Objective

This first of three seminars, intended primarily for legal practitioners from destination and transit countries of trafficking in human beings (THB), will focus on the various legal tools available at EU level to counter the rising problem of THB and how they can effectively be used.

  • Directive 2011/36/EU on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims, its implementation throughout the EU and the EU Strategy 2012-2016
  • Criminal liability of legal persons
  • Victims’ rights, compensation and non-punishment
  • Mutual recognition of protection measures

Who should attend?

Judges, prosecutors, lawyers in private practice, academics and NGOs active in the field from destination and transit THB countries

Participation conditions

Registration fee: €134

Travel costs up to €400 (including taxi costs) and accommodation for two nights (6-8 April) up to €120 per night will be reimbursed by ERA after the seminar upon receipt of the original receipts, tickets, boarding passes or invoices.

Participants are asked to book their own travel and accommodation.
