Functioning of the CRPD Committee

 

The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a body of independent experts established to monitor the correct implementation of the UNCRPD in the State Parties’ legal systems. It sits in Geneva, holding sessions twice a year. It makes suggestions and general recommendations on the regular reports from the State Parties, and has competence to assess complaints claiming the violation of the Convention by the latter, under the Protocol.
