Our Scholars 2024 – Akvile Grikienyte-Murasova

Your name, current occupation and country of work?
My name is Akvile Grikienyte – Murasova and first of all I would like to thank for this unique opportunity to participate in summer course on European Data Protection Law, which took place in Trier, 16-20 September 2024, by using ERA scholarship funds.

How did you benefit from the scholarship and the knowledge gained?
I have gained exceptional knowledge in the field of European data protection law and deepened it through discussions and case studies from the top professionals. Also, I had an opportunity to share my experience and to discuss the questions, which arise in my daily work, not only with the speakers, but also with other participants, who participate in data protection law implementation in various spheres.
I would like to note, that my clients are constantly applying for legal services in the field of personal data protection. Consequently, I will undoubtedly use gained experience in my daily work by preparing the documentation of personal – data protection and providing legal advice on issues that arise for clients on all aspects of the GDPR. After these summer courses I would feel much more confident in such situations as dealing with data breaches, international personal data transfers etc.

What part of the event did impress you the most?
I would like to specify, that all the speakers were very professional and provided us with very exhaustive, clear and useful information. All the time we were fully interacted in the lectures not only theoretically, but also practically. Practical workshops, such as, consent to data – processing, cookie policy and advertising, case studies on international data transfers, practical issues regarding data breaches were extremally useful. These practical situations will be very useful in my daily work.
