What is your legal background, your current occupation and country of work?
As an attorney at law at Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in Turkey, my role requires me to ensure that all registered companies are up to date with the current regulations and aware of any changes on legislation.
How do you use European law in your current work?
Turkey has replaced various regulations in line with the current developments in EU including intellectual property rights and I closely follow up legal and technical developments in this area.
What was your motivation for attending this particular event?
The scholarship from the ERA would give me the opportunity to have a better understanding on the EU intellectual property law and it would help me to develop and deepen the knowledge I gained in practice. In addition to that, it would be particularly beneficial for social networking with the other practitioners and experts in this area.
How did you benefit from the scholarship?
I am very grateful for the scholarship which has been awarded to me by the Academy. The Summer Course gave me the opportunity to have a better understanding with a thorough introduction relating to the EU intellectual property rights law and it helped me to develop and deepen the knowledge I gained into my day-to-day practice.
