- Q & A with Ana Burić
Your current occupation and country of work?
I am a first instance judge specializing in labor disputes so I was eager to enhance my knowledge and understanding of this specific area of law.
How you use European law in your work?
I follow all EU case law regarding labor law and try to implement adopted standards in my decisions, whenever possible, because my country (Serbia), as a country that is in admission process (in EU), is on the way of implementation and adoption of all EU standards and Directives, and trough decision making I could and would be a part of this.
How you benefitted from the scholarship and the gained knowledge?
With the ERA Scholarship I gained the opportunity to attend the summer course on EU Labor Law. The course was held over a period of five days and encompassed a wide range of topics, including the fundamental principles of EU labor law, the rights and obligations of employers and employees, collective bargaining and the role of trade unions, and the legal framework for addressing discrimination and harassment in the workplace.
Throughout the course, I had the privilege of meeting colleagues from different countries and also to share experience about different or same regulations on labour issues, and also to hear great experts and professionals sharing experiences and knowledge that will be helpful in everyday work.
