- Q & A with Ievgen Diadiuk
Your current occupation and country of work?
I am currently working as an attorney in Ukraine – council with ARZINGER Law Firm, Dispute Resolution Practice. I am focusing on litigation, particularly in commercial, civil and administrative cases.
How you use European law in your work?
For several reasons, European law plays a significant role in my work – Ukraine will be a member of the European Union, so EU regulation will be a part of the Ukrainian legislation. Even now Ukraine is adapting its legal system to EU standards as a necessary part of moving towards Europe, thus, most Ukrainian legal principles are similar or very close to EU ones.
How you benefitted from the scholarship and the gained knowledge?
The course allowed me to gain in-depth knowledge of European legislation (jurisdiction, scope) as well as practical skills in Workshops allowing me to better understand EU law and its application to my day to day work. These analytic skills can make me a more appealing candidate in the job market, especially with Ukraine shifting towards the EU legal world.
The scholarship also provided me with networking opportunities with colleagues, fellow scholars, experts, professionals and professors from all over Europe.
