- Q & A with Iryna Tsunovska
Your current occupation and country of work?
Deputy Manager of Affairs-Head of Legal and Information, Analytical Support Department Lviv District Council of Lviv Region, Ukraine.
How do you use European law in your work?
First of all, I conduct an analysis of the case law of the European Court, as I use such decisions as a source of law when preparing for litigation and other legal matters. Ukraine, as a country aspiring to join the European Union, is obliged to adapt its legislation to European regulations and directives. From time to time, I am involved in the analysis, preparation, and implementation of such acts into national legislation, including in the field of labor relations. I participate in discussions and the development of international agreements, as well as in the analysis and adaptation of our legislation to European regulations and directives.
How did you benefit from the scholarship and the knowledge gained?
The rapid pace of change in today's world requires constant updating of knowledge and skills, as well as a commitment to continuous development and improvement. I frequently attend various training sessions and participate in seminars, which allows me to remain an attractive professional for employers. Being open to new knowledge and experiences, I want to emphasize that participating in this Summer Course has enriched my professional career and made me more competent in the field of European labor law. I deeply value the opportunity to learn from recognized experts in this field and to exchange experiences with other course participants.
A significant advantage of this Summer Course for me was the study visit to the European Court in Luxembourg, which provided practical experience and enriched my knowledge. Moreover, gaining international experience with the support of a European educational institution and its faculty is a unique opportunity for me as a Ukrainian lawyer, enhancing my resume as a young professional. One of my goals in the near future is to intern at a leading European institution, and knowledge of European law will help me better navigate this field. This educational experience will greatly contribute to achieving this goal and prepare me for a future internship.
Receiving this scholarship was a great honor and an unforgettable experience for me. I am ready to apply the acquired knowledge to further develop myself and my professional career.
