- Q & A with Ketiana Tsifligkou
Your current occupation and country of work?
I am a junior attorney/associate and I work in a boutique Law Firm specialised in Labour Law in Athens (Greece). My studies in Psychology (Ba, MSc) and in Law, particularly in Labour Law (LLB, LLM), help me deal with each case in a way that takes into account the correct application of Labour Law, the clients’ needs and a humanistic perspective.
How you use European law in your work?
I provide legal advice on issues related to Labour Law to international companies, which are either already financially active in Greece or are going to be active in the near future. In addition, it is in my future plans to prepare for a PhD in European Labour Law. After all, one of the reasons I wanted to attend this summer course was in order to be exposed to as many stimuli as possible regarding European Labour Law in order to be able to decide on the topic of my PhD.
How you benefitted from the scholarship and the gained knowledge?
Thanks to the summer course I gained a greater, deeper and more substantial insight of the EU Directives, Regulations and the Case Law of the Court of Justice of the EU concerning Labour Law, so I will be able to provide the most accurate and up-to-date legal advice in terms of European Labour Law. Moreover, I had the chance to grow my professional network including remarkable colleagues from all over Europe, with whom we delved into the multifaceted nature of Labour Law.
