- Q & A with Marianna Vanuzzo
What is your legal background, your current occupation and country of work?
I am a PhD candidate about to complete my PhD in food law in Milan, Italy.
How you use European law in your work?
I deal with EU law in my everyday life as a researcher and lecturer. Since EU law is my field of specialisation, I was particularly interested in attending the Summer Course on EU IP law due to the high quality of the speakers and current relevance of the topics chosen.
What was your motivation to apply for a scholarship?
EU law also has a significant impact on legal practice. Therefore, the courses organised by ERA have always aroused my curiosity.
How you benefited from the scholarship?
I truly appreciated the ERA Summer Course on IP Law. I am glad I have had the opportunity to delve into IP law and gain a better understanding of trademarks, patents, copyrights, and much more.
I believe that this international online training programme provided me with thorough knowledge about EU IP law. I found the session and debate on Industrial Property Law particularly interesting in view of the future challenges the EU will face.
The virtual event was well organised. Even so, I think it would have been even more enriching if held in person, and so I hope that the Academy will be able to organise in-person or hybrid courses once again in the near future.
