- Q & A with Nikoleta Golubović
Your current occupation and country of work?
I work in the Basic State Prosecution Office in Podgorica. Currently I am a Trainee Prosecutor and I am undergoing training that lasts 18 months, after which, when I successfully complete it, I should be elected as a State Prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecution Office.
How you use European law in your work?
Since Montenegro is still not a member of the European Union, the law of the European Union cannot be applied in my country. However, Montenegro is in the phase of accession negotiations, so learning about European Union law will be useful in my future work. Then, as a future prosecutor, I will need knowledge of European Union law, for undertaking procedural actions as well as for decisions.
How you benefitted from the scholarship and the gained knowledge?
Participating in this summer course I had the opportunity to learn a lot of new things from European Union law and to exchange opinions with lecturers and participants from other countries. Also, as part of the previously mentioned training, I attended training in European Union law, so this summer course was a continuation of training in European Union law and complemented my knowledge in this area. Specifically, the knowledge from the course I attended in one part will be useful to me in my future work in cases of criminal offenses against labour rights.
