Supporting the whole Programme

With your support, qualified applicants from all EU member states and accession states will have access to legal training in EU law alongside a forum of diversity and a unique opportunity to network with counterparts. The scholars will benefit from the broad legal expertise accumulated over ERA’s 25 years’ experience in legal training. This entails access to ERA’s vast legal network, and courses which are offered in a great variety of member states and even in the country’s national languages.

Choosing a Geographical Focus

ERA aims to support capacity building and access to EU law training within the European Union and its accession states. By focussing on one target region the efforts can be bundled and the impact better monitored.
  • European accession states need support to converge national laws and procedures with the European mainstream, and to prepare for their country’s accession to the EU.
  • New member states in the east of the European Union still need support in strengthening democratic structures and building mutual trust with neighbouring countries and the wider EU.
  • Bilateral co-operation can be underlined by supporting young legal practitioners in building important professional networks and knowledge to build dependable local structures which have a sustainable impact on local society.

Choosing a Topical Focus

European law responds to the most pressing societal challenges the European community is faced with today and meets them with the principles of a free, democratic and diverse Europe founded on a common understanding of the rule of law. You can actively make a difference in your field of societal engagement by promoting expertise in the legal fields concerned with your cause.
