- Activities for the judiciary
- Activities for the defence
- Activities for both
A standardised package of training material for the judiciary will be established through a core team of European experts and the participation of experts of 17 judicial schools and prosecution services of the EU Member States as well as members of the EJTN task force on EPPO and selected EPs/EDPs. This will lead to a thorough product reflecting both the European and the national perspectives. The standardised training package will include training on the EPPO’s competence, conflicts of competence, obligations to inform, and referrals of cases as set out under the EPPO Regulation.
Based on the package of training materials, national prosecutors and investigating judges will learn about cooperation with the EPPO during 15 national legal seminars.
Additionally, the training package will become part of the training material of the judicial schools and prosecution services which are partners in this project.
Furthermore, at the end of the project, the training package will be made available to all members of the EJTN and is expected to be used beyond the 15 national seminars scheduled within this project.
Finally, the core team of experts will design an eLearning course based on the materials developed for the standardised training package, amended following the feedback received from the experts after conducting their national legal seminars. This eLearning course will be made available on this web page to everyone interested.
A similar method is chosen to establish a guide and eLearning course on future EPPO proceedings for defence practitioners. These will be drafted by a team of authors with long-standing experience in international defence law who closely followed the establishment of the EPPO. The guide and eLearning course will be publicly available from this web page and allow defence practitioners from all EU Member States to receive training on their roles in EPPO proceedings.
A platform for exchange among all legal professions involved in EPPO proceeding of all EU Member States, whether they participate in the EPPO Regulation or not, will be offered through the Europe-wide conference where participants will have the possibility to exchange first experiences, look at current and forthcoming issues with regard to the EPPO, and make personal contacts.
