About the project

Training seminars for judges, prosecutors and lawyers in private practice

In 2020-2021, within the framework of the EU Justice Programme (2014-2020), a series of seven decentralised seminars will be organised on the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (EU Charter) which will focus on the right to a fair trial.

Each seminar will be a combination of presentations and case studies spread over 1.5 days. Case studies and best practices will be central to the training and tailored to the specific field of law the participants are more familiar with, either civil or criminal/administrative law.

This series of seminars represents a great opportunity for lawyers in private practice, judges and prosecutors to improve and update their knowledge about the EU Charter, discussing with experts from across Europe the most relevant practical issues and recent developments in the field. It will allow them to be part of a European network of legal professionals with an interest in the protection of fundamental rights.

Participants will come from EU Member States (except for Denmark and the United Kingdom), Albania and Montenegro.
