The e-presentation explains the European Commission’s proposal to harmonise the definition of corruption offences throughout the EU and the related sanctions regime. It provides information on why investigations and prosecutions should be facilitated and comes up with several possibilities to realise them. Several preventive measures are detailed to tackle corruption more effectively. Finally, the protection of whistleblowers and the EU sanctions regime are addressed.
