The e-presentation provides an overview of the latest developments in the EU’s action framework to counter white-collar crime, highlighting new trends and threats in 2025. It emphasises the growing complexity and international as well as digital nature of white-collar crime, which now poses significant national regional and global security risks. Moreover, it details recent high-profile cases across the EU, including financial sector scandals, AI-driven fraud, political corruption and large-scale tax evasion. The increasing use of AI in enabling crimes such as money laundering and sanctions evasion is also addressed, as well as the rise of environmental, social & corporate governance-related and environmental fraud.
