Your current occupation and country of work?
I have a law master’s degree in Business Law from the University of Zurich and an LLM in Banking and Securities Law from the University of Liechtenstein. I work as a legal advisor in Estonia, at the Government Office.
How you use European law in your work?
In my work I specialise in various topics in the field of financial law and I perform legal compliance checks in this field. Financial law is a complex and constantly evolving field in which a lot of regulation comes from the European Union. Therefore, it is important for me to keep myself up to date with current issues at the European Union level.
What was your motivation to apply for a scholarship?
I wanted to further my knowledge in the field of banking and financial markets law and the content of this ERA course was just what I needed – it covered a wide range of topics and was delivered by highly qualified lecturers.
How you benefited from the scholarship?
The course was very comprehensive, covering a wide range of topics, and far exceeded all my expectations. The lectures were interesting and well-structured with good and up-to-date content. I really enjoyed that difficult, complex topics were delivered in a way that was easy to understand. The course was highly beneficial for me. I was able to refresh my previous knowledge and gained a lot of knowledge that is useful for my work. I am very thankful for ERA for the opportunity to participate in such a high-quality course.
