Your current occupation and country of work?
My name is Jelena Polijancuk and I am a Senior Advisor of Labour Law Group at the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania.
How you use European law in your work?
The area of my responsibilities has been extended as of 1 August 2019. Updating my professional skills is crucial to me as an official and expert.
The ERA Summer Course on European Labour law has been a great opportunity for upskilling and reskilling since the European Labour Law has been facing new trends in the past years, e.g., atypical work, platform work, telework, new working time arrangements.
How you benefitted from the scholarship and the gained knowledge?
I am grateful to the Friends of ERA Association for the possibility to listen to high-level speakers, to exchange views with fellow colleagues in the workshops and together with charismatic and enthusiastic lecturers to discuss the future developments in the field of European Labour Law.
The visit to the Court of Justice of the European Union has also been a valuable and interesting experience.
I would highly recommend this Summer Course to all legal practitioners in the field of European Labour Law who want updates about the latest developments, reflect on the recent rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union, simply discuss, and share best practice not only with colleagues from the EU Member States, EFTA countries, but also the candidate countries.
