

The e-presentation examines the work of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB). It outlines their missions, tasks and duties and examines their structure and hierarchy. The EDPB’s Guidelines and Recommendations regarding the Law Enforcement Directive are explained, with a particular focus on facial recognition technology. The benefits, drawbacks and risks of this technology are analysed, as well as its compliance with the applicable legal framework. Finally, the presentation elaborates on the future Guidelines on the Right of Access, exploring the challenges and potential issues that may arise during their implementation, including concerns about data security, individual privacy rights and the administrative burden placed on organisations regarding compliance.
